We are proud to announce that Fieldstone Architecture & Engineering has been honored with three prestigious awards at the 2025 Aurora Awards, presented during the Southeast Building Conference (SEBC) in Orlando. These awards recognize outstanding achievements in residential, commercial, and remodeling design across the Southeastern United States and the Caribbean, and this year, Fieldstone stood out for our innovation, creativity, and commitment to excellence.
“It is always exciting to see the creativity and enthusiasm from those that work in our industry. We inspire each other to continually strive for new heights,” says Fieldstone Chief Design Officer Dan Langefels.

Grand Aurora Award: Best Use of Technology – Building Homes with a Scan
Our team was awarded the Grand Aurora Award for Best Use of Technology for our innovative initiative, Building Homes with a Scan. This process integrates QR codes directly into architectural and engineering documents, streamlining how construction teams access critical information in the field. These codes link to detailed specifications, installation guides, safety protocols, and multilingual instructions, including translated Spanish versions, to ensure clarity and accessibility for diverse teams.
“At Fieldstone A&E, every design decision we make is driven by a simple goal, to make our clients’ experience easier, more efficient, and more connected. The addition of QR codes to our drawings and design details reflects that philosophy in action,” explains Brian Fresonke, Fieldstone Chief Operating Officer.

Led by Director in Process & Quality Teddy Taylor, the initiative has already identified the top 100 construction details, with plans to expand further. For our engineering drawings, each detail now includes a QR code that opens a dedicated page with enhanced resources, from Spanish translations and manufacturer installation guidance to photo references that bring the detail to life. This ensures everyone in the field, regardless of language or technical background, can access the same information instantly and confidently.
Our interior design teams are also using QR codes to link directly to digital finish presentations, giving clients and contractors the ability to confirm materials and design intent right from the job site.
Even our cover sheets include a QR code linking to our dedicated field support (SWAT) team’s contact information, so questions can be resolved as soon as possible.
“It’s a small innovation with a big impact, creating a more collaborative, accessible, and responsive design experience for our clients and partners,” adds Fresonke.
This award reflects our founder Ryan Rasmussen’s vision to use technology not just as a tool, but as a bridge between design and execution.

Silver Aurora Award: Best Recreation Facility or Amenity – The Hub at Skye Ranch
We were also honored with a Silver Aurora Award for our work with Taylor Morrison on The Hub at Skye Ranch in Sarasota, Florida. This thoughtfully designed community destination blends fitness, recreation, and social spaces with a modern yet welcoming aesthetic. A key design challenge was creating a bold architectural statement that still felt approachable. We achieved this through a striking glass curtain wall entry tower, softened by warm interior finishes and strategic lighting to create a resort-like experience.
Inside, the building is divided into zones that support both active lifestyles and community engagement. One side features spaces for art classes, kids’ activities, and social gatherings, while the other houses a full-size basketball court, rock climbing wall, fitness center, and movement studio. A central café and bar connect the two, encouraging interaction and fostering a sense of community. Innovative materials like insulated metal panels mimic natural finishes, adding depth and warmth to the industrial structure. The Hub sets a new standard for luxury community living.

Silver Aurora Award: Best Recreation Facility or Amenity – Esplanade at Azario Culinary Center
Our third award, another Silver Aurora, recognizes our work with Taylor Morrison on the Esplanade at Azario Culinary Center in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. This space is a refined and welcoming social hub that blends sophistication, industrial character, and modern elegance. Every detail was intentionally curated to create a distinctive experience in each room while maintaining a cohesive design throughout.
From the Barrel House Bistro and Tap Room to the Wine Tasting Room and Teaching Kitchen, the Culinary Center offers residents a variety of experiences. The Olive & Vine Market, indoor/outdoor lounge, and community room provide additional opportunities for connection and enjoyment. Guests in the outdoor dining and fireplace seating areas are treated to stunning views of the golf course, enhancing the ambiance and appeal of the space. The Culinary Club is more than a dining venue, it’s a place where residents gather, engage, and celebrate exceptional culinary experiences.
