Fieldstone A&E is thrilled to welcome Travis Hucks as Product Development Manager. Travis brings nearly 25 years of experience in the industry working through the ranks from CAD Tech to Area Director of Product Development with one of the nation’s leading residential home builders.
In his new role with Fieldstone, Travis will be training and developing team members on Architecture, Construction and Value Engineering philosophies. He will work with teams to identify and resolve quality and technical concerns. Travis will also provide insight to the team using his unique client perspective for greater understanding of Production Home Building.
“When it comes to production home plans, I always strive to make it better than the last. There are always things you can improve,” explains Travis.
As a kid, Travis loved to draw and wanted to work within the home building industry, so architecture seemed to be a great fit. He graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Drafting & Design. He still loves wearing his App State gear anywhere in the state of Michigan, still reveling in the 2007 upset when his alma mater beat 5th-ranked University of Michigan in the football season opener.
Early on in his career, Travis was challenged to work on a Clubhouse design that needed to be blocked out in CAD to start the CD process. The design feature he found the most intriguing was a set of opposing, symmetrical circular stairs which lead to and from the rear balcony and onto the pool deck. Travis took the time required to detail those stairs since there was nothing in the block library to pull from. Fast forward many years, and Travis found himself sitting on that very pool deck at a swim meet for one of his kids. Travis felt proud to know he was a part of creating such a complex project feature, and how well those stairs turned out.
Travis’s favorite part of working within the home building Industry is being a part of creating something that others have the opportunity to enjoy. He loves being a part of most people’s “American Dream.”
Travis states, “[Home ownership is] the biggest investment most people will make, with the anticipation of making memories that will last a lifetime. Whether it is their first home, third home, or retirement home, many milestones happen throughout a person’s life. Where they were and what house they lived in is usually tied back to those memories.”
In his spare time, you can find Travis spending time with his family in Gainesville, GA, or traveling in their RV to explore their favorite National Parks.
Coming from one of the nation’s largest production home builders will give Travis and Fieldstone the opportunity to improve our offering so we can continue to become trusted advisors to our clients.
We are so excited to have Travis on board and look forward to the many opportunities we have to grow together.
